This afternoon, teachers and students from North South University (NSU) and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) held a protest demanding justice for rape victims and punishment for rapists. The protesters chanted slogans such as "Tumi ke? Ami ke? Achiya Achiya" and "We want justice."
Earlier, on March 8 at around 12:30 AM, students from various residential halls of Dhaka University (DU) organized a midnight protest, calling for the public execution of rapists. The demonstration urged a swift and fair investigation into rape incidents nationwide, including the rape of an 8-year-old girl named Achiya in Magura, and demanded the harshest punishment for the offenders.
