Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus expressed deep shock over the death of an eight-year-old rape victim from Magura, who passed away on Thursday at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. He urged authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice through a fast-track trial. The young girl, who had been severely tortured, had been fighting for her life at CMH after being admitted on Saturday for emergency treatment. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), she succumbed to her injuries around 1 pm despite receiving advanced medical care and the tireless efforts of expert doctors. The statement revealed that the child suffered three cardiac arrests in the morning, with medical teams successfully reviving her twice, but the third arrest proved fatal. Her tragic death highlights the need for immediate legal action against those responsible for this heinous crime. The news was reported by Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir.
