The World Innovative Science Project Olympiad’s main round took place in Bandung, Indonesia, from December 13–16. A total of 46 teams from 16 countries participated, showcasing various science projects and research papers. Two Bangladeshi students achieved remarkable success, winning awards in both categories they entered. They secured two gold medals in the Engineering Technology category and two silver medals in the Environmental Science category. The winning students were Zabeer Zarif Akhter from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Md Twashin ilahi from Shaheed A.H.M. Kamruzzaman Government College in Rajshahi. Another Bangladeshi team also won four gold medals in the Engineering Technology category. Reflecting on their achievement, Zabeer Zarif Akhter mentioned that the winners were announced on December 16, Victory Day, making the accomplishment even more special. He added that preparing and presenting two projects within a short time was highly challenging. Md Twashin ilahi noted, "While many participants focused only on presenting project concepts, we went a step further and tested their practical applications, which contributed to our success." The Award-Winning Projects In the Engineering Technology category, the duo presented Auraguard: Safe Driving System,a safety device built on a single motherboard featuring 11 safety mechanisms designed to make driving smarter, safer, and more secure. Their second project, titled HydroPlasma X: High Voltage Plasma Water Purifier from Electronic Waste,is an innovative electric purifier that uses high-intensity shock waves to purify contaminated water.
