On Sunday morning, June 1, formal charges were filed against Sheikh Hasina as the main instigator. By 12:15 PM, the trial began airing live. The tribunal handling crimes against humanity related to the July–August massacres named Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and ex-IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun as accused. The investigation ended May 12, and the Chief Prosecutor said Sheikh Hasina was responsible for the indiscriminate killing of over 1,400 people during the student movement.
He also stated, “This trial is not about revenge for the past; it’s a promise of future.”
