The Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh, Joris van Bommel, officially inaugurated the newly established Netherlands Visa Application Center in Banani, Dhaka, on Monday (November 3). The center will process short-term (Category C) and Caribbean visa applications for Bangladeshi citizens.
According to a press release, applicants can submit their visa applications at the new center from November 2 by scheduling an appointment online.
Ambassador Bommel said the initiative reflects the growing partnership between Bangladesh and the Netherlands, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and people-to-people connections.
“Bangladesh is an important partner of the Netherlands, with increasing collaboration in business, education, and cultural exchange. The new center will offer travelers a more modern, efficient, and convenient experience,” he added.
A VFS Global spokesperson stated that the new center will ensure improved and seamless services for applicants, further enhancing engagement between the two countries.
The statement also mentioned that applicants can use additional services such as courier delivery and SMS notifications. However, these services will not influence the visa decision or processing time.
VFS Global will manage administrative and biometric procedures, while visa approval decisions will be made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
Located on the seventh floor of the Borak Mehnoor Building (51/B, Level 7, Kamal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka-1213), the center will remain open from Sunday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm.
