Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called on the United Nations to document human rights violations linked to the 2013 Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Chattar, as well as the execution verdict of Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi. He stressed the importance of properly recording extrajudicial killings and other atrocities that took place under the rule of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, highlighting the need to ensure justice for the victims. In response, UN Resident Coordinator Gwen Lewis assured that the UN would provide technical support for the documentation process.
