Canada has carried out its first-ever humanitarian airdrop over Gaza, delivering 21,600 pounds of aid amid Israel’s nearly two-year-long military offensive. The mission, carried out with a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130J Hercules, was part of a joint effort with Jordan, the UAE, Egypt, Germany, and Belgium to address the worsening humanitarian crisis.
At the same time, Canada has stepped up diplomatic pressure on Israel, accusing it of blocking humanitarian aid and violating international law. As famine worsens in Gaza, Canada’s recent move to recognize Palestine has further strained ties with Israel.
While Israel defends its actions as military necessity, the Canadian government has condemned the aid obstruction, stating it breaches international humanitarian law and must end immediately. As conditions in Gaza deteriorate, international calls for urgent relief continue to intensify.
