Brazil’s ambassador, Paulo Fernando Diaz Perez, announced that several Brazilian companies are interested in investing in Bangladesh, particularly in establishing meat processing plants in the country.
On Tuesday morning (August 19), the ambassador made these remarks during a discussion with the South Asian Climate Change Journalists Forum, Bangladesh Chapter, ahead of the COP-30 World Climate Conference.
Ambassador Paulo Fernando explained that Brazil seeks to export animal protein—especially beef—to Bangladesh at affordable prices. He emphasized that if the Bangladeshi government expedites the certification process for Brazilian meat, the export could begin quickly. He also mentioned that imported beef from Brazil would be available at lower prices, around one dollar per kilogram, or 120–125 Taka.
