Bangladeshi students spent a record $667.77 million on overseas education in the 2024–25 financial year, marking the highest annual total ever, according to Bangladesh Bank data. This is a 153% rise from FY21 and $122.5 million higher than FY24. Over the past five years, spending on foreign education totaled around $2.43 billion. The number of students studying abroad has also surged, rising 119% over the last decade and more than tripling since 2008, highlighting the growing interest of Bangladeshi youth in international education.
