Zara Rahim, a Bangladeshi-origin communications strategist, has been named to New York Mayor Eric Adams’ transition team.
She will join as a senior adviser, helping shape his administration as he assumes office on January 1, 2026. Rahim will work alongside a diverse team of women, including Maya Fernandez, Tamika Van Auken, and Fiona Ali, all key figures behind Mayor Adams’ groundbreaking mayoral victory.
Born in Florida to Bangladeshi immigrant parents, Rahim has built an influential career in communications, politics, and media.
She previously served with Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Apple, and most recently, co-founded the Vibes Only content platform.
