On May 14, what began as a routine trip to collect grass near the Bangladesh-India border in Thakurgaon escalated into a violent incident. A Bangladeshi farmer reportedly attacked a BSF (Border Security Force) jawan, severing two of his fingers with a sickle. According to witnesses, a group of local people had gone to the border area as part of their daily work when they were stopped by BSF personnel on patrol. This led to an argument, and suddenly, one of the Bangladeshis launched a violent attack on a BSF soldier with the blade. While three of the locals managed to escape back into Bangladesh, the attacker was apprehended by the BSF. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has confirmed the incident and is currently working to secure the return of the man through a flag meeting.
