Real Madrid C.F. is pleased to announce that Álvaro Arbeloa will take over as the new first team coach.
Arbeloa has been coaching Castilla since June 2025 and has spent his entire coaching career in Real Madrid’s youth academy since 2020. He led the Under-14s A in 2020–21, winning the league, the Under-16s in 2021–22, and the Under-19s from 2022 to 2025. While coaching the Under-19s, he achieved a treble in 2022–23 (League, Copa del Rey, and Champions Cup) and won the League again in 2024–25.
As a player, Arbeloa was part of one of Real Madrid’s most successful eras, making 238 official appearances between 2009 and 2016. During that time, he won eight trophies, including 2 UEFA Champions League titles, 1 Club World Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 LaLiga title, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
Internationally, Arbeloa enjoyed a historic period with Spain, winning the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships (2008 and 2012), earning 56 caps for his country.
