Herat saffron has once again gained international recognition by securing first place for quality at the Global Taste Awards in Brussels, Belgium, marking its tenth consecutive year at the top, organizers said. Sold under the brand name “Herat Saffron,” the product was judged by the International Taste Institute, where more than 250 professional chefs and food experts evaluated entries based on taste, aroma, and overall excellence.
The competition included saffron producers from Afghanistan, Iran, Spain, and Greece, all renowned for high-quality saffron. Despite the strong field, Herat saffron impressed judges with its deep color strength, rich fragrance, and balanced flavor—qualities that continue to set it apart from its global rivals.
