Although the government has introduced various welfare cards for the public, National Citizen Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organizer and Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah, has now called on the Prime Minister to introduce a “Justice Card” to ensure fair and accessible justice for ordinary citizens.

He made the demand during a street rally organized by the NCP on Wednesday night (May 20) in front of Hasan Memorial Government College Gate in Nangalkot, Cumilla. A large number of central and local party leaders and activists attended the event.

Referring to the recent rape case involving seven-year-old Ramisa, Hasnat Abdullah strongly criticized the government. He said the July movement was not fought so that children in the country would continue to become victims of such crimes. According to him, if a child’s family loses hope of receiving justice, it reflects a serious failure and a matter of shame for the state.

He further stated that people across the country are living with growing insecurity and that citizens not only seek a change in power but also expect an end to crime and the establishment of proper justice.

Criticizing the government’s card-based initiatives, he said that while people have received Family Cards, Farmer Cards, Petrol Cards, and other facilities, the public’s most urgent demand now is a “Justice Card"—symbolizing a judicial system that delivers quick and guaranteed justice.

Speaking on the country’s political situation and extortion, Hasnat Abdullah said people did not seek merely a change in those involved in extortion; they wanted extortion itself to end. He added that the expectations people had when voting for change have not been fulfilled.

Addressing the government, he warned that the prime minister had once sought public support for a "yes" vote in a referendum but later changed position after coming to power. He added that if a culture of impunity continues, ordinary people may one day show the government a “red card.”
