TikTok’s Testing DM Streaks to Prompt More Engagement

TikTok is attempting to add more even compulsion to the service, this time through DM streaks, which are activated when users continue regular messaging interaction. As per TikTok:“Unlock a streak by sending messages to each other for three consecutive days. The streak will end if both of you didn’t message each other in the last 24 hours.” TikTok appears to be mimicking Snap's famous streaks feature, with the possibility of adding unique emoji for longer streaks and additional rewards in the future.
