A writ petition has been filed with the High Court in Bangladesh, requesting the government to ban the Bangladesh Awami League and cancel its registration for indiscriminate killings. The petitioner, Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan, executive director of Sarda Society, also seeks a three-year tenure for the current interim government, change the names of institutions in Sheikh Hasina's name, bring Tk 11 lakh crores laundered abroad back to the country, and transfer officials appointed during AL's regime. The High Court may hold the hearing tomorrow.
