In 2019, Benazir Ahmed, who used to be inspector general of police (IGP), got his PhD from Dhaka University. He started putting "Dr." before his name after he got the degree. Benazir, on the other hand, did not meet the requirements to enter the PhD program. The standards were lowered so that he could get in, which many teachers called "irregularity." In order to get into this program, a candidate must have at least 50% on all public exams they took, which Benazir did not do.
