A group of Mechatronics Engineering students from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) developed a remote-controlled bomb disposal robot named Hades-X-ZeroThree for the Bangladesh Army. Named after the Greek god of the underworld, the robot can detect and recover bombs, traverse various terrains, and lift weights over three kilograms. Equipped with wireless cameras, microphones, night vision, and powerful headlights, it can transmit media content to operators from up to one kilometer away. Despite limited resources and time constraints, the team overcame challenges to construct most parts themselves due to the scarcity and expense of robotic components. Hades-X-ZeroThree was delivered to Kadirabad cantonment on April 19, where it garnered interest from senior army officers, who expressed a desire for future collaborations to enhance the robot's capabilities. Team leader Shafayet Jameel expressed pride in their achievement and aspiration to continue working with defense forces.
