The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has reissued a three-day heat alert due to an ongoing heatwave expected to persist for the next 72 hours starting Monday. Meteorologist Bazlur Rashid highlighted potential discomfort due to increased moisture incursion. Despite some cloud cover temporarily reducing heat intensity, Rashid anticipates the heatwave to regain strength from Tuesday onwards. Pabna and Chuadanga experience very severe heat waves, while Rajshahi, Tangail, Jessore, and Kushtia face severe conditions. Other regions, including Rangpur, Barisal, and Mymensingh, are affected by mild to moderate heat waves. The highest temperature reached 42.2°C in Chuadanga. Rainfall with gusty winds is forecast for some areas, while temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable over the next five days.
