A Dhaka court has postponed the hearing on 11 cases, including sedition charges, against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to July 29. Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court, held at Keraniganj Central Jail, rescheduled the hearing following defense petitions. Khaleda, presently out of jail under a government order, is undergoing treatment at her Gulshan residence due to illness. The cases involve arson attacks from early 2015 and seditious comments on freedom fighters. Additionally, three corruption cases—Gatco, Niko, and Boropukuria coalmine—are awaiting trial in special courts in Dhaka, with two more cases pending in the Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
