The Maitri Setu is nearing operational readiness after its virtual inauguration in March 2021. Scheduled to open for passenger traffic in September, this 1.9-kilometer bridge spans the Feni River, linking Ramgarh in Bangladesh with Sabroom in India. Goods movement is anticipated to follow shortly after. The bridge's strategic location near Tripura's Sabroom, close to Bangladesh's Chittagong port, promises to significantly enhance trade opportunities. Efforts are also underway to revive Kamalasagar border haat and prioritize the development of industrial estates along national highways to further stimulate economic growth and trade activities.
