The National Curriculum Coordination Committee in Bangladesh has recently approved a new assessment approach for primary and secondary students. Departing from traditional scoring methods, the revised system will use symbols like triangles, squares, and circles to denote student performance. This evaluation method comprises two key components: 65% from written exams and 35% from activity-based assessments. These activities encompass assignments, presentations, research, demonstrations, problem-solving, and planning tasks. The written exams will directly reflect these activities, each segment lasting five hours. Notably, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam will retain its current name and will continue to be overseen by education boards.
