A 15-year-old Rohingya girl named Khatija Munni has been missing for a week from Noakhali General Hospital. She disappeared on September 12 from the Rohingya unit of the hospital. Reports suggest she fled with Police Constable Riazur Rashid, who is also known as Nayan. Constable Nayan, previously stationed at Bhasanchar Police Station, reportedly developed a romantic relationship with Khatija and had been involved with other women and an intoxicated lifestyle. A month ago, he was transferred to Noakhali Police Lines due to disciplinary issues. Since last Thursday, he has been absent from his duties at the Noakhali Police Lines. Dr. Masum Iftekhar, the Civil Surgeon of Noakhali, stated that while the hospital reported the girl’s escape, the responsibility to locate her lies with the police. No complaints have been filed by Khatija's family, but SP Mohammad Asaduzzaman acknowledged the situation and noted that Nayan's transfer was due to his misconduct.
