The interim government has decided to cancel plots allocated under reserved quotas by the previous Sheikh Hasina administration. This move includes the plot awarded to actor Arifin Shuvoo, known for the film "Mujib," and the plot of producer Liton Haider. Rajuk Chairman Major General (Retd.) Md. Siddiqur Rahman Sarkar confirmed this decision on September 5, 2024. The plots in question were allotted during a Rajuk board meeting on November 27 last year, with Shuvoo receiving 10 kathas and Haider 3 kathas from the Purbachal new city project. Shuvoo had begun the registration process but could not complete it due to time constraints. Following the change in government on August 5, a review of plots granted for political reasons over the past 15 years was initiated. Rajuk has since decided to cancel these allocations. The Chairman mentioned that while a list of unregistered plots is being compiled, the total number of cancellations remains unspecified.
