Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, several ministers, MPs, and influential leaders have been arrested and are currently under interrogation by the DB police, revealing significant information. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the former State Minister for Information and Technology, shared that during the height of the student movement, he advised Sheikh Hasina to resign as Prime Minister to prevent further deterioration of the situation. Palak recounted a critical meeting on August 4 at Ganabhaban, where Awami League leaders and their affiliates gathered to discuss the one-point movement aimed at toppling the government. Palak boldly suggested that his own position could be sacrificed if it would help quell the student unrest. He urged the Prime Minister to empathize with the students and the public, which led to a heated reaction from the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, who attempted to physically confront him. Despite this, Palak stood firm, asking the Prime Minister to step down, which ultimately led to his expulsion from Ganabhaban after he pointed out the growing public disdain for the Awami League.
