BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated today that the public would not tolerate an interim government remaining in power for an extended period. "A survey claims that 80 percent of people support this government staying as long as it wants. I have no idea where they got this figure or how, but the people will never accept it," Fakhrul remarked during a discussion. He continued, "A newspaper published a report today referencing this survey. I can't confirm who conducted it, but they mentioned BRAC Institute. I’m unsure of the methodology used in the survey." Fakhrul emphasized the need for caution when making such claims to prevent confusion. "When reporting such matters, it’s important to be thoughtful and avoid causing unnecessary confusion. We must exercise care," he said. The BNP leader also voiced concern about certain groups working to extend the interim government’s tenure indefinitely. "Several organizations and groups have already begun efforts to ensure this government remains in place. If they succeed in making all the changes and implementing reforms, the role of the public and parliament will become irrelevant," he added.
