The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed an indefinite ban on protest programs, gatherings, mass processions, and meetings around the chief adviser's residence, Jamuna, and the Bangladesh Secretariat. The ban was issued by DMP Commissioner Mainul Hasan on August 25, following a clash between protesting Bangladesh Ansar members and students. Ansar members protested for job nationalization, blocking the secretariat. Government officials and Anti-Discrimination Student Movement members were inside the building. Anti-discrimination Student Movement coordinator Hasnat urged students to gather near the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University, despite being detained in the Secretariat. Thousands of students gathered near the sculpture and began a procession towards the Secretariat. A clash ensued between Ansar members and students, with some students being severely beaten. At around 10 p.m., thousands of students took positions from Doyel Chattar to the Secretariat, and the road in front of the Secretariat was occupied by students. All Ansar members fled within 30 minutes of the clash.
