Police and protesters in Bangladesh have clashed with the chief advisor of the interim government, demanding an increase in the age limit for government jobs to 35. The protesters, including journalists, broke a police barricade and marched from Shahbagh to the chief advisor's residence. The protesters, who were protesting against the Covid-19 pandemic, political unrest, and session jams, claimed that many had crossed the age limit of 30 without completing their studies and applying for government jobs. They demanded that the age limit be increased to a maximum of 35. Police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters, and several people were injured during the scuffle. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Md Israil Howlader stated that the police ban on gatherings in front of the chief adviser's residence was already in place, but the protesters defied it.
