Interim Government's Information Advisor, Nahid Islam, stated, "Several groups are trying to exploit the situation by inciting division, discord, and conflict between the hill communities and Bengalis. However, we will not allow them to succeed. We firmly believe that Bangladesh is made up of both the hills and the plains, and we stand united." The advisor made these comments on Saturday evening (September 21) during a meeting with locals at Larma Square in Dighinala, Khagrachari. He also assured that support would be provided to those impacted by the recent unrest in the hills. Nahid emphasized, "Those responsible for this violence will face justice. The perpetrators behind the shop arson and killings will be held accountable. We continue to urge everyone not to take the law into their own hands."
