A legal notice has been sent to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for former cricketer Shakib Al Hasan's removal from the national cricket team and his return for investigation into a murder case. The notice was sent by Supreme Court lawyer Barister Sajib Mahmud Alam. The Bangladesh cricket team is currently in Pakistan for a two-match test series. A murder case against Shakib Al Hasan was filed on Thursday, with 28 other accused, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Ferdous Ahmed, and around 400–500 unidentified persons. According to the case statement, on August 5, Rubel participated in a protest march on Ring Road in Adabor. During the rally, someone allegedly fired shots into the crowd as part of a planned criminal conspiracy, resulting in Rubel being hit in the chest and abdomen. He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on August 7.
