In Mohammadpur's Nabodoy Bazar, a house was robbed around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6. The robbers, posing as locals, entered the building and took the security guard hostage. They then looted cash from a flat at gunpoint. Upon hearing that the army had arrived, the terrified residents screamed. The robbers escaped on motorcycles after the army briefly moved away. The army then increased their patrolling efforts. Several university students assisted the army personnel during this time.
