The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced plans to reopen the Kazipara Metro Station, which was damaged during the anti-discrimination student protests, within the next month. Meanwhile, the Mirpur-10 Station is expected to be operational soon. DMTCL sources confirmed this information on Tuesday (September 10). Reports indicate that the company managing the metro rail is working towards reopening the damaged Kazipara Station by mid-September or October and is also aiming to restart operations at Mirpur-10 Station as soon as possible. A DMTCL official mentioned, “Stations like Motijheel, Secretariat, Mirpur-10, and Uttara North see the highest passenger traffic, with around 30,000 to 40,000 people using these stations daily. We are therefore making efforts to reopen the Mirpur-10 station as soon as we can.” Commenting on the situation, DMTCL’s acting Managing Director, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, stated, “We are working to reopen soon. I haven’t met with the team yet, but once I do, I will get feedback. They are continuing their work, and we hope to reopen soon.”
