The Italian Foreign Ministry has clarified that any messages appearing on the fake X profile, formerly Twitter, attributed to Italian Ambassador to Dhaka Antonio Alessandro, do not originate from him. Amid countrywide violent protests, the ministry informed the Bangladesh government through their embassy in Rome via a note verbale on July 22. Efforts have been made to have the fake profile removed, and the ministry appreciates Dhaka authorities for ensuring the safety of Ambassador Alessandro and embassy staff.
