The government has filed a petition with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court to halt the High Court's decision reinstating the 30 percent quota for freedom fighters' children in government jobs. Assistant Attorney General M Saiful Alam stated that the Chamber judge may review the petition later today. The government argues that the cancellation of the quota in 2018 was a policy decision beyond the High Court's jurisdiction. The High Court had deemed the government's cancellation illegal in response to a writ petition filed on June 5th, concerning the ninth to 13th grades in the civil service.
