200 grams of marijuana were discovered in a student's pocket during a check at the HSC testing facility in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The Executive Magistrate subsequently sentenced the student, Shraban Molla, to six months of simple jail. The event happened on Thursday, July 4, at noon, while the upazila's Bhulta School and College hall was being inspected. Two other test takers were also dismissed for exam cheating. According to reports, Hiron Molla from the Mahna district of the upazila is the father of the guilty Shraban Molla. He attends Pachrukhi Begum Anwara College as a student. Tarikul Islam Turjo from Salimuddin Chowdhury College and Saeed from Pachrukhi Begum Anwara College are the pupils who have been expelled. Dr. Abdul Awal Molla, the center secretary, said, "Today was the first paper exam for the HSC in English. It was then that Shraban Molla, an examinee, entered the hall in possession of marijuana, which is prohibited. The Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land), Simon Sarkar, condemned the Pachrukhi College student to six months in prison under the drug laws.
