The interim government has announced an initial compensation of BDT 5 lakh for the families of each martyr who lost their lives in the anti-discrimination student movement, and up to BDT 1 lakh for those injured. This decision was made today, Wednesday, at the first executive committee meeting of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, held at the state guesthouse Jomuna in the capital. The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the interim government. The government aims to distribute the compensation for the injured as swiftly as possible, while checks for the families of the martyrs will be presented during a memorial service in Dhaka. Additionally, the committee, chaired by the Chief Advisor, called on people from all walks of life, expatriate Bangladeshis, and various organizations and businesses to contribute to the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation.
