Yunus and Erdoğan are longtime friends, and Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan and Muhammad Yunus are members of a high-profile UN Zero-Waste Forum. Yunus proposed increasing Turkey's trade with Bangladesh, citing investment in important sectors, including manufacturing, where Turkiye is a strong global power.
