Members of the University of Dhaka Senate have urged the cancellation of Benazir Ahmed's 2019 doctoral degree in business administration, citing concerns over his qualifications. Ranajit Kumar Saha, a Senate member and DU graduate, proposed this during the Senate's annual session at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on June 26. Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam also endorsed the proposal. Their contention is that Ahmed, a former inspector general of police, did not meet the necessary criteria to legitimately receive the degree.
