Doctors in Bangladesh have declared a nationwide shutdown in response to the beating and assault of doctors at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. They demanded justice and security for those involved and demanded arrests within 24 hours. However, authorities have not accepted these demands. The doctors also included a 6-point program, which will be briefed after 2 pm. The hospital has been shut down since morning due to insecurity and demands for justice. On August 31, unidentified youths beat three neurosurgery doctors in connection with a patient's death. Doctors had given an ultimatum to arrest the culprits or go on strike within 24 hours, but the doctors went on strike before the ultimatum expired.
