Wasa has increased water prices to Tk 16.7 per 1,000 litres for residential users (up from Tk 15.18) and Tk 46.2 for commercial users (up from Tk 42), citing inflation under section 22 of the Wasa Act 1996. This adjustment also applies to unmetered properties, deep tube wells, buildings under construction, and all water and sewage charges. The notification follows section 23 of the Wasa Act 1996. Previously, Wasa raised prices by 5% annually from 2017 to 2019 and by 25% in 2020 for residential users with government approval.
