Two children, aged nine and 12, were allegedly recruited by a drug trafficking syndicate to smuggle 6,615 yaba tablets from Ukhiya to Chattogram by swallowing 133 packets, RAB said. The children were reportedly promised Tk4,000 each for the dangerous task.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB detained the children along with a woman in Anwara and took them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Doctors subsequently removed the capsules under medical supervision. The children are now stable and under observation, while RAB is investigating to identify those behind the operation.
