Rakib Mollah, a 25-year-old Chhatra League leader from Shivaloy in Manikganj, died on July 15 while receiving treatment in Dhaka, eight days after being attacked by rivals. The son of Lablu Molla of Daschira village and former general secretary of Ulail Union Chhatra League, Rakib had been embroiled in a conflict over local dominance. On July 7, he was severely injured in an attack at Dashchira playground. Despite being admitted to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Rakib succumbed to his injuries after eight days.
