Despite enduring major disruptions such as floods, strikes, political unrest, and long holidays, Chattogram Port has set a new record in container handling for the 2024–25 fiscal year. By 15 June, the port had handled 3,171,779 TEUs—surpassing last year’s total by 4.63%, with 15 days still remaining. The Chattogram Port Authority credited this success to strong support from the ministry, increased automation, the introduction of e-gate systems, better container management, and the commitment of port officials and workers. This achievement is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Bangladesh’s trade and commerce by the end of the fiscal year on 30 June 2025.
