Bogura's Kahalu upazila administration fined Afrin Cold Storage Tk 20,000 for illegally storing around 488,388 eggs to create an artificial crisis. The raid, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Merina Afroz and Livestock Officer Mahbub Hasan Chowdhury, occurred at Muroil Bazar. Afroz stated that eggs can't be stored for more than 15–20 days and found the storage conditions subpar. The authorities were ordered to sell the eggs within seven days, or face stronger actions. Some spoiled eggs were also discovered during the inspection.
