The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has uncovered the involvement of two brothers of former Cox's Bazar-4 lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi in money laundering through illegal drug activities. CID Chief Mohammad Ali Mia confirmed their participation during a press briefing, reiterating the commitment to pursue all individuals involved in the drug trade regardless of their status. Investigations targeted 35 cases involving several "narco godfathers," revealing properties worth Tk 178.44 crore obtained through drug trafficking. The CID has already seized assets including land, houses, flats, and bank accounts valued at Tk 8.11 crore.
