On Tuesday night, four earthquakes struck the Bay of Bengal within just 90 minutes. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first quake occurred at around 9:45 PM near the sea, roughly 275 kilometers from Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, at a depth of 10 kilometers. It had a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale.
Three additional tremors followed, measuring 5.0, 4.9, and 4.6 in magnitude, affecting nearby regions. The final quake was recorded at approximately 11:15 PM. Fortunately, no tsunami alerts were issued, and there were no reports of casualties.
