The Bangladesh Integrated Network for Livestock Information (BINLI) pilot program, launched by the Department of Livestock Services under the Livestock and Dairy Development Project, aims to register 50,000 cattle by 2025. Registered cattle will have barcoded ear tags containing breed, dietary preferences, health records, location, and ownership information. This system will streamline vaccination, treatment, and management, enhancing meat export processes. The database will track cattle diseases and record newborn calves. Initially, 16 high-production upazilas are targeted for registration, with 96 cattle already registered in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj. Additionally, 4,800 cattle will be insured against death or disability, reducing theft and supporting livestock owners. The program will meet importers' demands for detailed cattle history.
