In September, remittances to Bangladesh reached an average of 11 crore dollars per day; about 13 crore (12.80) dollars, or 1,056 crore taka, came in one day last Thursday, a new record for the country. If this trend continues, remittances may exceed $3 billion by the end of the month. The highest remittance in a month in Bangladesh's history was in July 2020, with the highest annual remittances coming in the fiscal year 2020-2021. Legal remittances in August reached 222 crore (2.22 billion) dollars, 62 crore dollars more than the same period of the previous year (August 2023). In the first month of July of the current fiscal year, 2024-25, remittances of US$ 190 million came to the country.
