On Friday, July 19, little Abdul Ahad (4) was tragically shot while on the balcony of his family's apartment in Dhaka's Rayerbag area. His father, Abul Hasan, a senior assistant in the income tax department, and his mother, Sumi Akter, were with him when a clash broke out between police, student league members, and quota reform activists below. Ahad was struck by a bullet in the right eye, causing severe injury. Hasan rushed his son to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Ahad was placed on life support in the ICU. Despite the doctors' efforts, Ahad passed away on Saturday night. His family took him to their village in Pukhuria for burial, marking the beginning of a new family graveyard.
