A pregnant woman, Subarna Akhter, died after being swept away by floodwater in India's Tripura hills. The onrush of water broke the dam of the Howrah River, inundating at least 15 nearby villages, including Birchandrapur. Subarna tried to leave her house hurriedly but fell in the strong current. As she was pregnant, she failed to swim ashore. Locals took her to Akhaura Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared her brought dead. The incident occurred in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria.
